We typically recommend pressure-treated lumber or composite building materials to ensure you can enjoy your patio without all the hassle. Both have properties that ward off wood burrowing insects, resist fire and decay, and in the case of composite wood, can even maintain its original luster for years without having to maintain it seasonally. Natural wood can be used as well but will require more maintenance which is why we often steer customers towards these more long-lasting, low maintenance, materials.
